Going Down!

Woohoo!! Instead of going up my weight is slowly going down again!  I'm sure it was all that hard work I did this weekend so maybe it was the jump start I needed.

Breakfast: Oatmeal

Bike Ride to run errands

Unpacking and moving boxes around as we're getting new windows installed in the dining room and bedrooms

Lunch: Leftover stir fry from last nights Supper 3 wraps.  not the smartest choice but I could eat while unpacking

Supper:  Maybe some rice and more stir fried veggies as I'm feeling unimaginative at 6:20 am   leftover stirfry

Snack: A few Peek Freens "Healthy" Lime Coconut cookies

Lots and Lots of water too as its going to be a super warm day

I wont lie

From this past Friday until last night I ate really lousy. All of our meals were restaurant meals and I usually ended up eating just twice a day.  Also somewhere there were Tim Horton Donuts.

I did however move around a lot with walking, climbing up and down stairs and more biking back and forth than I actually thought would happen.

I wont list any of the meals I ate but lets just say this: What happens during a move, stays during a move and leave it at that.

Tomorrow I'll be back to my oatmeal breakfast, hopefully sensible lunches and suppers. I'll be moving around a lot again with unpacking and doing laundry so that should burn some more calories and look good on My Fitness Pal food diary:)

I hope everyone had a great weekend

Some things are better left unsaid

 Breakfast: Oatmeal

Lunch: Tuna Sandwich on WW Bread and about 3/4 cup of Tomato Soup

Dinner: Veggie Pizza on Multi-grain crust...Unfortunately I over ate..  I'm not sure why I was so hungry but maybe its because I didn't have a afternoon snack

Two More Days!!

Well we actually start our move tomorrow but will wrap it up on Saturday with the heavy stuff. My goal is to get all or most of the boxes and little stuff moved over tomorrow.

I think one of the reasons I'm most excited about the move is that we'll have access to a swimming pool and fitness room.  I do not tolerate high heat well so it will be nice when its super hot to have somewhere indoors that I can work out.

Yesterday was a ok day eating wise

Breakfast: Usual Oatmeal with accompaniments

Mid-Morning Snack: date bar (ok that wasn't healthy)

Lunch; Vegggie Curry Pie (Delish!)

Late Snack: Some Pineapple and a AB & J Sammie

Supper: Fish Sandwich and some fries

I can't wait to get this move over with so I can restock the kitchen with more healthy fare. I know my menu looks dismal but I'm trying to eat out our pantry so there isn't so much to move over.

Today's Menu

Breakfast: Oatmeal

Lunch: Tuna Sandwich and Tomato Soup

Snack: Banana

Supper?? TBA

Is it Friday Yet?

Today was a ok day mental wise and a pretty good day eating wise:

Breakfast: Oatmeal with Earth Balance and Honey

Lunch: Almond butter and crofters superfruit sandwich on WW bread

Supper: Chicken Breast with some Mashed potatoes, stuffing, and brussel sprouts

If I get stomach issues tonight then I'll know it was the chicken which will make me sad as I love chicken but oh well such is life. I'd rather be healthy and miss chicken than keep eating it and be sick at the time.

I also did 50 minutes of walking today:)

Never as Planned

The Brown Rice I tried to make turned out only half cooked so it really turned me off having rice with the leftover mushroom gravy tonight.

Instead I settled for quick and easy: A couple of Schneider's All Chicken hot dogs with a few fries on the side. I never liked non all beef hotdogs until I tried these Chicken ones. Luckily I don't eat hot dogs often and i have yet to find a vegetarian version I like yet.

Biking!

We actually biked today and I am so happy we did.  We did our ride in two parts as I had some slightly evil plans for the other leg our trip.

1st to Planet Organic to pick up some Nutritional yeast, Earth Balance and Organic Brown Rice. I wanted to grab some Vegenaise but couldn't find any and I also forgot to grab a couple other things but I guess that can be another trip later this week.

Photobucket

The second part of our trip involved trying to get our kitty, Willow, used to being on a bike for trips to the vet or outings etc....

Photobucket

She rode in her carrier slung on my back messenger style and did survive though there was quite a fur shed from her fidgeting around. She was also quite non vocal which was a happy surprise. Nothing like a crying cat on your back on a bike to get the pedestrians looking at you funny.

Breakfast was good: Oatmeal
Lunch was two slices of cheese toast with WW bread
Dinner will be leftover mushroom gravy on the Brown Rice I bought today Yummy!!

Stomach Issues:(

I've been having some severe stomach issues after eating supper tonight. I'm sipping some Ginger Ale now and I think tomorrow a  fairly bland menu will be in the cards for me.

Breakfast: Oatmeal of course

Lunch:  Toast with Blue Diamond Almond Butter

Supper: Clear Broth Soup

Hopefully this will help.

Oh Yea I wanted to give a Shout out to Lynn from the Life, Health & Fitness Blog as she had blogged about the Crofters Superfruit Spread which intrigue me to buy some to try for myself:)

My Summer Wishlist

I have a fitness wishlist I'd like to accomplish this Summer
  • Get back to walking 4miles in 60 minutes or less
  • Buy a swimsuit and learn to Swim
  • Take a Intro to Yoga Session
  • Start lifting weights
  • Get a Massage at least once a month
  • Get at least one Healthy eating cookbook and use recipes from it for two weeks
There are a few other things I want to do but they are pretty personal so I'll keep them to myself for now.

Saturday was a bust

A lot of stuff that was supposed to happen day didn't so today was pretty much a bust for me.

Breakfast: WW English Muffin with Superfruit Spread in Asia blend DELISH!!

Lunch: Oatmeal with a bit of Blue Diamond Almond Butter, Butter and honey

Supper: Chicken Enchiladas and Spanish Rice

Also I need cookbooks recommendations, Vegetarian, Healthy Cooking etc....I know I can search online but then that keeps me on the internet even more so please please please give your favorite cookbooks so that when we get moved I can have some new recipes to try:)

Supper Recap

So tonight I had my almost vegan supper and overall it was really good.
I wasn't too fussy about the Gardein Chik'n fillets however it may have been because I hadn't prepared them correctly. i just slipped them in the Mushroom gravy and simmered them until the were heated through. Maybe if I get them next I'll pan fry them a bit first to brown them up.

The picture isn't the best and you have to imagine that I had some kind of green vegetable on the plate too

Photobucket

It tastes a lot better than it probably looks

The real winner of supper was the Vegan Mushroom gravy.  It did call for nutritional yeast which I didn't have but even without it it was super yummy. I'll try it next time with rice and some vegetables on the side for a complete meal.

 I'm happy and full now

Tomorrow WW English Muffins with the Crofters Superfruit Spread:) Can't wait!

Planet Organic Score!

I just got back from going downtown and then headed over to Planet Organic

Photobucket

Here is what I bought:
  • Crimini Mushrooms
  • Hummus
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Vegetable Broth
  • Organic Milk in the Glass Bottle
  • Nutritional Yeast  Oops bought the wrong stuff
  • Crofters Superfruit Jam -Asia Mix
  • Virgils Cream Soda for my husband
  • Slice of Vegan Chocolate Cake for me:)
  • Two organic Gingersnaps
  • Garlic
I changed my mind from soup for lunch to some Kashi Crackers with some of the hummus and the chocolate cake for my treat:) I walked a very brisk pace for 30 minutes!

Snow Day!!

The wind blew and the snow flew and now there is white on the ground! It kinda puts a kink in my day but I still have loads of things I can do around the apartment today.

Breakfast: 3 poached eggs on WW toast with a light smear of olive oil margarine and a dash of Franks Red Hot Sauce! Yum!

Lunch: Soup

Supper: Hopefully Gardein Chik'n breasts, mashed taters, vegan mushroom gravy and green veggies. I'll make hubby something separate for his meat course.

I was up at 3:15 this morning thanks to my noisy neighbors but I only have to deal with them for one more week and we'll be in our new and quiet apartment!! The Sunday after we move I plan on heading to the fitness room for a hour session with the treadmill too!! I'm so excited

My Friday

Today was my Friday so Yea!! Three day weekend! I really need it too.

Right now its icky outside in downtown Edmonton. High Winds and flurries = Sideway snow. This may screw up my plans for a walk or bike ride tomorrow.

Todays Meals:

Breakfast: Oatmeal with Olive Oil Margarine and honey

Lunch: 3 and a half mini vegetable quiche

Snack: Banana

Supper: Ummmmmmm Yea not saying but in my defense I'm still trying to eat down the pantry before we move.

Tomorrow I have some errands to run including a run to Planet Organic for more Greek Yogurt, nutrional yeast and veggie stock. I'm making vegan Mushroom gravy with Mashed Potatoes and some Veggie Chik'n filets from Gardein I think after we move and starting May 1st I may do a 30 days of Vegan/Vegetarian eating

Breakfast: Oatmeal with olive oil margarine and honey. Hard-boiled egg

Back to Work

So I'm back getting up at 6-ish to get ready and be at work by 8am. Its one thing getting up early because i want to and another getting up because I have too.

I was pretty tired by the end of the day and hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I started out good with eating:

Breakfast: Oatmeal with olive oil margarine and some honey

Lunch: Homemade Cauliflower Broccoli soup with two small cheddar bisucuits

Afternoon snack: Baggie of baby carrots with some lo-cal ranch dip

Dinner..Uhh yea...not so good

I did get plenty of water and made sure I took my HBP pill and tomorrow is another day and I plan to do better.

I'll boil up some eggs tonight so I can have a few on hand at work. I love hard boiled eggs and one with my oatmeal really fills me up until lunch.

Cooking Session

After my walk I went over to Safeway and picked up the fixings for lunches for the rest of my work week.

I made vegetable mini quiche and a huge pot of cheddar cauliflower broccoli Soup. After I watch Corner Gas I'll whip up a batch of mini cheddar muffins.

I did forget to get fruit at the store so I'm hoping after he gets home from work hubby will walk back over to the store with me. I'm not sure what kind of fruit Im in the mood for and though I did get a hand of bananas I think I want something else too

Walking

I walked this morning. It about killed me but I managed though.

2.6 miles in about 41 minutes. :( It sucks but last Spring I was doing so much better with my stats too. Ugh hopefully it gets better as I try and keep it up.

Oatmeal

I never used to like Oatmeal, in fact, after a horrid period of my childhood, I vowed never to eat oatmeal again.

I know its good for me and I know its the good "stick to your ribs" kind of breakfast that will get you going in the morning.

About two months ago I vowed to eat oatmeal every morning for a month and train myself to like it. I did accomplish this but after trial and error I found I could only enjoy it with margarine and brown sugar, quite a bit of brown sugar too.

However, this morning I tried it with the margarine and honey that I had picked up at Planet Organic and I love it!!! I'm sure that the honey will raise my blood sugar like brown sugar but if I can switch over to the honey and then later to agave nectar or stevia maybe in the end this is the right way for me to do it.

I was going to take a picture of my morning oatmeal in my trusty Tupperware Microwave cup but I was so hungry I completely devoured it:)

Soon it will be time for a quick shower and since is a gorgeous morning I think I'll go for a walk since the tires on my bike are pretty flat looking:(

Blah

I guess at least I should be happy I'm tracking my daily calories now but still Blah!
1st column is my calories followed by carbs, fat, protein and sodium (which I really have to watch)

Lunch Ideas Needed

I like salad but I cannot bring myself to eat them everyday and I don't find them very filling either. Normally I just bring supper leftovers but I'd really love some other ideas too.

So if anyone is reading this blog I'd love some healthy lunch ideas that go beyond salad or leftovers

Much Love & Healthy Living!

Where there wasn't a post yesterday

I had a migraine most of the day yesterday. It started early Saturday morning around 2 a.m and decided to stick around until 3:30 in the afternoon! It was such a lovely but wasted day too. I slept in bed with my kitty while my husband fended for himself. He did run out and pick up some Excedrin for me plus lunch which I barely managed to keep down.

Since I slept most of the day though I was up around 3:30 this morning. I'm on the sofa now and Kitty is sleeping on the back cushion beside me. She really does love me:)

It is going to be another nice day so I have my fingers crossed that hubby is not sick (we barely manage to feel good at the same time lol) so we can get a couple of errands done, come home and go for a quick ride before I start Easter supper.

Our Easter Menu is roasted chicken, mashed taters, dressing, gravy and veggies for me. I'll have my food scale and measuring cups out so I can make sure I stay within my calorie limit today.

Much Love & Healthy Living!!

P.S. If you notice the weight loss ticker yes I've gained 5lbs:( Hopefully it was just water weight and it will re-adjust when I go back to work this week and start walking again with the kids.

Score!!

I found Greek Yogurt today at the little Planet Organic close to our apartment so I'll have some with Honey and some pecans for lunch.

I did have a waffle for breakfast with some sausages because I need some protein and we ate out. I miss my oatmeal so I'll have that tomorrow.

Its really pretty outside today but hubby is still sick and I have a slight headache so I'll do around the apartment stuff this afternoon and hopefully tomorrow we'll feel well enough for a nice long ride.

Bust

I think the move is internally stressing me out. I noticed today that I have some splotchy patches of the skin under my arm. Its doesn't itch or anything and I'm not sure if its the Rosecea spreading either. I'll try and get to the doctor and find out what it is.

I've decided to rejoin Weight Watchers too after we get moved or around the same time. I feel like my eating habits are out of control and it worries me.

For example I was up at 4:30 and around 6am had a slice of cheese toast. Later that morning after running errands I came home and ate a 1/2 bag of mini reeses peanut butter cups. Lunch was a turkey sandwich made mostly healthy. For dinner we ordered Swiss Chalet:( 1/2 chicken with rice and some shrimp...slice of apple pie for dessert. Full disclosure sucks but in the end maybe that is what I need, to fully disclose myself to whomever reads this blog of mine.

F~

An Early Morning

I've been awake and up since 4:30 this morning. Seems like my brain was in overdrive so I was unable to sleep.

I wasn't feeling like oatmeal this morning so I had a singe slice of cheese toast instead. I have a lot of running around to do so I'll try and have a larger meal at lunchtime.

So far it looks like its going to be a beautiful day as I can see blue skies from the balcony window.

Also, I tried the Presidents Choice Brand Cran-Cherry Juice and it was ok. it was much better as a spritzer with some Sprite but I think I'm going to forever going to have bad feelings about Cherry juice and never going to be able to take Cherry Nyquil or Cherry Pepto-Bismo again. Yuck!
